At least five people dead ‘after mass shooting at Texas home’

At least five people are dead after a mass shooting at a home in Texas, US, according to reports.

Emergency crews have descended on the property in Polk County following the reported shooting.

Texas rangers are said to have found at least five bodies inside.

The cause of their deaths is unconfirmed, but KPRC2 reports that they were found with apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers remain at the scene near Livingston. It is not clear whether any suspects have been taken into custody.

It comes less than two weeks after two cops were left fighting for life after being shot during a drugs raid in Houston.

Four police officers were gunned down during the raid on a home believed to be selling heroin, with two hit in the neck.

One of the pair was said to have been shot multiple times. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said a fifth cop was also injured in the bust.

There is no suggestion last month’s incident, or drugs, are in any way linked to today’s reported shooting. An investigation into the latest incident is ongoing.
