Opinion | Lesson for Sheryl Sandberg: ‘Lean In’ for Integrity

To the Editor:

Re “Sheryl Sandberg Can’t Have It All” (column, Nov. 25):

Thank you for Jennifer Senior’s fair and balanced article about Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer at Facebook. She asked the operative question: Is it fair to ask Ms. Sandberg to behave more morally than men? No, it is not, but it is disappointing that she didn’t.

The lesson for Ms. Sandberg is that, when we are in a position of power, “Lean In” is more than optics. It isn’t about lobbying for yourself with unself-consciousness; it is about the greater good, about the people in the corporation who depend upon the integrity of your decisions, whether you are male or female.
