Boris Johnson is competing against rival Jeremy Hunt for the affections of Tory voters this month, with the Tory leadership hustings are underway. Throughout June, the two MPs will embark on a path from north to south, addressing questions from prospective voters. Some 160,000 people will then vote for whichever candidate they believe should take Conservative leadership, and become Prime Minister.
Is Boris Johnson divorced now?
Boris Johnson married his second wife Marina Wheeler in 1993, 12 days after he divorced ex-wife Allegra Mostyn-Owen.
In 2004, after a four-year-long affair with journalist Petronella Wyatt, he was kicked out of their marital home.
He was kicked out once again in 2010 after QC Ms Wheeler accused him of cheating on her with art consultant Helen Macintyre.
The couple announced they separated “several months ago” in September 2018, after 25 years of marriage.
They announced they had initiated divorce proceedings in the same month, which are not finalised.
Together the couple has four children – Theodore Apollo, 19, Cassia Peaches, 21, Milo Arthur, 23, and Lara Johnson-Wheeler, aged 25.
Mr Johnson is now in a new relationship with live-in girlfriend, Carrie Symonds.
Ms Symonds is the daughter of The Independent newspaper co-founder Matthew Symonds, and Josephine Mcaffee, a lawyer.
She is credited with Mr Johnson’s current image, as he sports close-cropped hair and a new style.
Although Mr Johnson has a house in Oxfordshire, the MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip chose to move into his new girlfriend’s flat in Camberwell, south London.
They were recently heard having an explosive argument at the property, but close friends of the couple insist all is well.
Mr Johnson allegedly plans to marry his new flame as soon as he is divorced.
An insider told Mail Online: “There has been so much nonsense touted around about their relationship.
“The truth is that they love each other very much and want to get married as soon as the time is right.
“Boris only has eyes for Carrie and she is totally smitten with him.”
