Just more than two weeks after proud parents Meghan and Harry introduced tiny Archie to the world, Harry jetted off to Rome for a charity polo match. The game was held to raise funds for the Duke’s organisation Sentebale. During the trip Argentine polo player Nacho Figuera gave an update on how Harry is coping as a dad.
Figuera gave an intimate update on how little Archie is getting on and how Harry is faring as a first-time father.
He told PEOPLE: “The Duke is the kind of father I always imagined he would be.
“He has always had a great love for children and a great understanding of them.
“I noticed that becoming a father has influenced him and his dedication and love for the project is now stronger than ever.”
He added: “The Duke is very happy with this stage of his life and I believe he is going to enjoy it very much.”
The South American sportsman also gave an insight into how Archie is sleeping as he said Prince Harry had “slept well” ahead of the match.
He said: “Two weeks after the birth of his baby, the Duke is doing great.
“I saw him earlier and he is ready.
“He slept well and is ready to play a great game.
“He seems to be very happy. I think this is a very exciting part of his life.
“He was ready for it and he is loving it.”
Figueras’ admission Harry had slept well implies Archie is also sleeping well.
And when asked how Harry was handling being away from his son, Figueras said he is “still present”.
He said: “When duty calls he is just 24 hours away from home, and I am sure he is doing just fine.
“He is a wonderful father and very present and he is here for an amazing cause.”
Archie Harrison was born on May 6, weighing 7lb 3oz.
His newly released birth certificate reveals he was born at Portland Hospital in Westminster after Meghan Markle’s home birth dreams were dashed.
The royal couple looked overjoyed when they presented their royal tot to the world for the first time shortly before releasing adorable and intimate photos of them with him and the Queen, Prince Philip and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Of Harry’s journey into parenting, Chairman of Sentebale Johnny Hornby said: “You can tell what am incredible affinity he has for children.
