London protest ROW: Activist STORMS OFF as Adam Boulton blasts ‘you’re SELF INDULGENT!’

Robin Boardman has helped coordinate eco-protesters across London bring the Capital to a halt to raise awareness of the negative effects climate change has on human life. Extinction Rebellion, a socio-political movement at the core of the protests, has been creating severe disruption for commuters attempting to reach their offices for the past two days by setting tents in the middle of Oxford Circus and launching a sit-in on Waterloo Bridge. Sky News host Adam Boulton saw Mr Boardman walk off set after rendering the young protester teary-eyed with his intense questions.

Mr Boulton said: “I feel very patronised by you because I feel that I’m well aware of what the situation is and I don’t see why millions of fellow citizens should be inconvenienced.

“After a week Parliament has left, you come here and cause disruption in Westminster. You are not even getting your message across.

“You’re like the incompetent middle-class, self-indulgent people and you want to tell us how to live our lives. That’s what you are, aren’t you?”

As Mr Boardman attempted to defend his decision to protest claiming he and other participants were exercising their democratic rights, Mr Boulton challenged him again: “You’re not really democratic at all, are you?

“You aren’t giving people a choice about having their life disrupted. You’re not giving people a choice about what they think because you know that it’s right.”

He added: “There is absolutely no democracy in this at all.”

At least 290 protestors from the Extinction Rebellion group have been arrested in London over the past two days.

The movement has also hinted at protesters targeting the London Underground on their second day of demonstration to “highlight the emergency of ecological collapse.”

Before storming off, Mr Boardman said: “People are going to die and we don’t disrupt that possibility, then we are failing as a species. We’re failing people.

“I care so deeply, so deeply, about the people in this world and all the lives on it and I will not see it die. I will not see it go this way.”

He continued: “People are not going to be able to put food unto their table, on their plates, and I won’t stand for that.

“And I won’t stand for people who won’t stand for what it means to live on this planet. And I won’t stand for anything else.”

The Metropolitan Police has decided to disable London Underground wifi in an attempt to prevent Climate Extinction Rebellion supporters communicate.

They announced in a statement: “In the interests of safety and to prevent and deter serious disruption to the London Underground network, British Transport Police has taken the decision to restrict passenger WiFi connectivity at Tube stations.

“This follows intelligence that Extinction Rebellion protesters intend to cause disruption to Tube services.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we would like to assure passengers that this decision is not taken lightly.”
