Meghan Markle to shun Kate Middleton’s Lindo Wing tradition for ‘home birth plan’

“It (a home birth) is her favoured choice”

Meghan Markle, 37, will follow in the Queen’s footsteps if she indeed chooses to give birth at home.

Former Suits actress Meghan is reportedly strongly considering having her child delivered at Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor.

The mum-to-be shares the home with hubby Prince Harry, 34, which they moved into earlier this year.

This would go against Prince William and Kate Middleton’s choice of giving birth at the Lindo Wing.

Her Majesty had all four of her children at either Buckingham Palace or Clarence House.

But, Meghan has reportedly not ruled out a hospital birth in the event of a premature birth or should a caesarean delivery be needed.

A pal told The Daily Mail: “It is her favoured choice.

“But obviously it depends on how things are nearer the time.”

A source previously told Mail on Sunday: “Meghan said she doesn’t want the men in suits. She was adamant that she wanted her own people. It did leave a few of us a little baffled.”

Another added: “It is slightly surprising. These people (the Queen’s doctors) are the best of the best and when it comes down to it, their role would actually be very limited in the birth itself, assuming all goes to plan.”

Harry is said to be excited ahead of the birth of his first child and will be with his wife “every step of the way”.

The pair recently enjoyed a final romantic getaway together before their child’s arrival.

They booked themselves into Hampshire’s swanky five-star Heckfield Place hotel, earlier this month.

It is estimated the pair coughed up £33,000 for the three-night stay, with the “Long Room” alone going for £10,000 a night.
