One charged, one on the lam after armed car-jacking attempt: London police

London police have charged a Mississauga man, 18, and are looking for a second suspect in connection with an attempted car-jacking involving a handgun.

According to police, a 24-year-old man sitting in his vehicle at the southeast corner of Oxford Street West and Wonderland Road was approached by two males just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the suspect demanded he exit the driver’s side. One of suspects pulled out a handgun after the victim refused, police say. Yet the driver still didn’t exit the vehicle, and police say the two suspects fled in opposite directions.

Police arrested a suspect nearby but officers are still looking for a second male suspect, described as a five feet 10 inches, 175 pounds, black, 20s, with a slim build and black hair.

The victim was not injured during the attempted robbery, police say.
