A famed evangelical Christian and Donald Trump’s supporter repeatedly watched a 20 year-old pool boy have sex with his wife, it is claimed. Jerry Falwell Jr, 58, is said to have invited Giancarlo Granda to have sex with his 53 year-old wife Becky when Granda was just 20.
The Falwells – who run Liberty University in Virginia – reportedly picked up Granda at a Miami Beach hotel in March 2012, with the alleged cuckolding continuing until 2018.
Granda told Reuters: ‘Becki and I developed an intimate relationship while Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room.’ The group sex sessions are said to have taken place ‘multiple times a year’ at hotels in New York and Miami, as well as at the Falwells’ home in Virginia.
Granda says that while he entered into sex with the Falwells consensually, he now feels the couple preyed on him inappropriately. He said: ‘Whether it was immaturity, naïveté, instability, or a combination thereof, it was this “mindset” that the Falwells likely detected in deciding that I was the ideal target for their sexual escapades.’
Jerry Falwell has admitted his wife’s affair with Granda, but denied claims he’d also gotten in on the action.
Granda showed Reuters messages between himself and Becki Falwell, who sits on the advisory board of the Women for Trump committee. They included naked screenshots of Becki taken during a FaceTime call, with Jerry Falwell spotted in the background.
Granda also shared an audio conversation recorded with the Falwells, which saw Becki jealously hit out at his flings with other women.
She said: ‘He’s like telling me every time he hooks up with people. Like I don’t have feelings or something.’ Jerry then chimed in: ‘You’re going to make her jealous.’ And Granda replied: ‘I’m not trying to do that.’
Another text sent by Becky to Granda in 2012 read: ‘Right now I am just missing you like crazy… Have you had this effect on all of your lady friends?’
The couple’s relationship with Granda saw them help him buy a Miami Beach youth hostel in 2013. But their arrangement began to fray earlier this year, culminating in an exchange of angry texts which saw Jerry Falwell accuse Granda of trying to ‘extort’ him.
Granda then accused the Falwells of ‘ruining his life’, and warned the couple he would go down ‘the kamikaze route,’ although it is unclear if he was referring to approaching the press with his story.
The shocking allegations made against the Falwells are in marked contrast to the behavior expected of students at their Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Rules at the college – founded by Falwell’s televangelist father Jerry Sr in 1971 – explicitly forbid gay relationships, saying: ‘Sexual relations outside of a biblically ordained marriage between a natural-born man and a natural-born woman are not permissible at Liberty University.’
Falwell’s support for Donald Trump helped him clinch the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. His support served to placate religious conservatives uneasy about Trump’s three marriages and multiple rumored extra-marital affairs, which the president denies.
He took indefinite leave of absence from Liberty earlier this month over an Instagram photo of himself with his arm around a younger woman while the zip on his pants was undone. Falwell claimed it was a harmless joke meant to gently mock the woman’s visible pregnancy.
Falwell approached right-wing outlet The Washington Examiner after Reuters went to him with their story, and said: ‘Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved.’
Liberty University’s board says its members have yet to decide whether or not to retain the services of Falwell.
