President Joe Biden has taken credit for a strong October jobs report showing 531,000 new employment positions added, and insists that continued economic recovery hinges on ‘driving vaccinations up’.
The jobs added in October, reported by the Labor Department on Friday, exceeded the Dow Jones estimate of 450,000.
‘Well above expectations,’ Biden said in his remarks on Friday morning from the State Dining Room of the White House.
Biden added that it was just disclosed that 250,000 jobs more jobs were created than initially reported for the prior two, more disappointing months.
‘In total, job creation in the first nine months is about 5.6million new jobs – a record for any new president,’ Biden said.
In addition, the US unemployment rate dropped to 4.6%, lower than economists’ estimate of 4.7%.
