A man was arrested after a disturbing video of him ‘menacing’ customers at a McDonald’s with a small ax was shared online.

A graphic video of the incident circulated TikTok and Twitter soon after the man began harassing several patrons at one of the fast food chain’s locations in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

The ax-wielding suspect, Michael Palacios, 31, got into an altercation with three unidentified men before pulling the ax from his backpack early Friday morning around 2.25am, according to NBC News.

The viral video captured several incidents involving Palacios, including him engaging in fights and destroying property inside the store.

Video then shows the man approaching patrons with the ax in hand, but never taking aim or causing injury with the ax.

At the end of the two-minute video, he punched a patron and approached several others with the ax in hand before leaving the store with his bicycle.

Police said no victims reported injuries.

‘Upon arrival of officers, witnesses at the location reported that the suspect got into a physical dispute with three unknown males inside of the location,’ police told NBC’s TODAY.

‘The suspect removed an ax from his backpack and menaced the unknown males. The suspect intentionally caused property damage to the establishment. The individual was taken into custody by responding officers. A search incident to a lawful arrest, an additional knife was recovered from his backpack.’

Police arrested Palacios early Friday morning after he left the McDonald’s on Delancy Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Palacios was charged with criminal mischief, three counts of menacing and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The McDonald’s owner and operator Paul Hendel said the chain was cooperating with authorities as they investigated the incident.

‘The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority,’ Hendel said. ‘We are shocked by these acts of violence committed in our restaurant, and we are cooperating fully with the authorities in their investigation.’
