S'pore girl hurt by pet bird: Do peacocks attack only children? What should I do if I encounter one?

SINGAPORE – A three-year-old girl required stitches on her face after she was attacked by a pet peacock in Serangoon on Sunday (Nov 28).

Although mostly renowned for their distinctive tail feathers, peafowl – male peacocks and female peahens – can be aggressive, especially during the mating season.
