The law firm Arthur Cox has appointed its first full-time associate dedicated to pro bono work.
Carolann Minnock will manage the firm’s pro bono programme. She has extensive experience working for overseas non-profit organisations, including as an Irish Rule of Law International representative in Malawi, as programme coordinator for the International Development Law Organisation in Afghanistan, and most recently as the Thailand-based programme manager for Internews Asia.
“Carolann’s appointment is an important signal of the firm’s commitment to pro bono matters and builds on the institutional capacity of the firm to increase significantly the volume and impact of the pro bono work that the firm undertakes,” said Alex McLean, partner and head of the firm’s pro bono practice.
Ms Minnock said: “I am delighted to take up this appointment and excited by the opportunity to work with the team at Arthur Cox to grow the firm’s pro bono practice.”
Arthur Cox employs more than 850 staff, including almost 100 partners, in its offices in Dublin, Belfast, London, New York and Silicon Valley.
