Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed three royal babies over the years. And now they are growing up, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, have won the hearts of the nation with their adorable antics whenever they are seen in public. Like most parents, Kate and William have some sweet nicknames for the Cambridge children.
Many unconfirmed reports have suggested Kate and William have a cute tea-related nickname for their eldest child.
Due to Prince George’s initials of ‘PG’, the logical next step was reportedly to call him ‘PG Tips’ or just ‘Tips’ after the famous tea brand.
And according to The Sun, at one point Prince George introduced himself with the nickname “Archie” while speaking to a passerby.
An unnamed woman told the publication: “I was asked by a police minder not to take a photo of the children, which I didn’t, but George started stroking my dog.
“Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it.
“To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face.
“I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely.”
A few months later, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child in May 2019, and George actually got a new baby cousin named Archie.
Prince William has a beautiful nickname for his only daughter Princess Charlotte, which is French in origin.
When Kate helped to design her own garden for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2019, all of the Cambridge children came to see it.
And when Prince William was playing on a swing, he asked his daughter to give him a push.

But instead of calling her Charlotte, he referred to his daughter as ‘Mignonette’.
The name translates to “small and delicate” in French, which may be why William picked it for his only little girl.
Charlotte is also lovingly known by another nickname to her mum, Kate.
When visiting Northern Ireland, Kate was chatting to a member of the public about how old their son was.
When they replied that he was four, Kate reportedly said: “Oh, he’s the same age as Lottie.”
What other royal nicknames are there?
Whether Kate and William’s youngest son, Prince Louis, has a nickname isn’t clear.
But if Louis doesn’t yet have one, he is sure to get a nickname in the future.
The Royal Family are known to love a nickname, with the Queen famously known as ‘Lilibet’ by family members since childhood.
