Americans will “see much more” of Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales in the years ahead, a royal expert has told Commentator Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, spoke ahead of the Prince and Princess of Wales highly anticipated trip to Boston, scheduled for December.

The future King and Queen Consort, both 40, are attending the Earthshot Prize ceremony the city as part of their first visit to the US in eight years.

It follows a visit to New York by Princess Anne, 72. The Princess Royal was pictured aboard the Staten Island Ferry after attending a black tie event in October.

Prince Edward is due to land in Washington DC tomorrow, according to engagements on the official palace website.

When asked about overseas visits under King Charles III, another royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams believes we will “undoubtedly” see more of the Waleses abroad, flexing their “soft power”.

He also expects to see more of King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort.

Ms Schofield said she expects Americans “to see much more of Prince William and Catherine throughout the king’s reign”, where they are hugely popular.

William and Kate’s upcoming trip has led to speculation the couple could meet with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who will be nearby in New York.

Harry and Meghan are attending the Ripple of Hope Award Gala on December 6. Kate and William visit on December 2.

Of royal visits overseas under King Charles, Mr Fitzwilliams said: “What we are undoubtedly are going to see is that Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be going abroad a lot and the Welsh royals will be supporting them.

“This would make total sense because at start of Queen’s reign she was abroad a lot.

“These are tremendous way of showing soft power.”

He added of the fanfare during such visits: “Every time a royal goes abroad the interest is phenomenal. Kate Middleton is a global icon.

“We know they are going for the Earthshot and that will be a high profile visit.”

Eartshot Prize is an environmental contest launched by William in October 2020.

A royal insider has said Kate and William plan “to be more global” in the years ahead.
