Archie Harrison, 3 and Lilibet Diana, 1, are King Charles’ grandchildren from his youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. Despite not being in the UK like Charles’ three other grandchildren, the two little ones are very much still “very much” included in the the newly-appointed King’s family unit and, according to royal expert Marlene Koenig, he has “made that clear”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Ms Koenig said: “What’s the point of them being styled, even on a piece of paper, or a website, when they will have no role, whatsoever, in the Royal Family

“That said, they are very much part of Charles’ family. He made that very clear”.

She added that, despite the distance, “I think he wants to see his grandchildren”.

Ms Koenig continued: “They are very much his family, which is very different from having a role within the Royal Family.”

She recalled how Charles had got “a bench made for all the grandchildren, the swing”.

As it was seen getting put into a car following a visit to the UK in 2021, she added: “Everyone surmised was it was, that it was for Lili, because he has made it for his grandchildren.

“Each one has their name on it.”

She also mentioned when Charles’ four-year-old grandson Prince Louis was spotted getting up from his chair next to his mum, the Princess of Wales, and went to sit on his grandfather’s lap during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Archie and Lilibet 'should be treated like Wessexes' says Lady C

She said this moment “said it all” about the relationship, and love, that Charles has with his grandchildren.

As well as Archie, Lilibet, and Louis, Charles has two other grandchildren.

He is also grandfather to Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7.

Through his marriage to Queen Consort Camilla, he has five step-grandchildren.
