Aylesbury fire: Huge blaze erupts as chemical incident closes busy road in both directions

Thames Valley Police confirmed the bypass is shut from the Tring Hill entry slip-road to the Aylesbury Aston Clinton Road exit due to the “ongoing incident”. Officers confirmed the closure will “remain place for several hours”.

Thames Valley Police wrote on Facebook: “The A41 bypass is currently closed from the Tring Hill Entry Slip-road, to the Aylesbury Aston Clinton Road exit.

“This is due to an ongoing incident.

“This will remain in place for several hours.

“Please avoid the area and plan an alternative route.

“There will be updates throughout the morning.”

Bucks and MK Fire tweeted: “Multiple appliances and crews are currently dealing with an incident involving an acetylene cylinder in the area of Aston Clinton.

“Firefighters are in the process of cooling the cylinder.

“A 200m cordon is in place. This has affected the A41 in both directions.”
