A baby has been found dead inside a property in east London.
Police made the tragic discovery at an address in the Harold Hill area of Havering at around 7.40pm on Tuesday.
Officers rushed to the scene in Mimosa Close after receiving reports of concern for the welfare of the child.
The Met Police has launched an investigation and is treating the death as ‘unexpected’.
Forensic officers from the Met’s crime scene investigation team have been pictured at the property.
A cordon is in place and a number of cops can also be seen standing guard nearby.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the baby’s death.

A spokesman for the force said: ‘At approximately 19:40hrs on Tuesday, 22 August police were called to an address in Mimosa Close, Havering following reports for concerns of the welfare of a baby.
‘Officers attended. The body of a baby was located.
‘At this time the death is being treated as unexpected and under investigation.
‘A scene remains in place at the address. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.’
