Currently, those who are eligible for their booster jab are being offered either Pzifer or Moderna at least six months after their second jab. In England, coronavirus vaccine records are loaded onto the NHS app within a few days of having the jab.

However, as the Government begins rolling out the booster to over-40s, many people have said their vaccine passports on the app are not updated to show they have had the booster.

Some have reported the booster does not show up in the “domestic or travel” section of the app, despite many countries requiring it as official proof of vaccination status.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Social Care said: “Currently, booster vaccinations are not required for domestic certification in England or at the UK border and are not currently displayed in the NHS Covid Pass.

“We know some countries are altering their vaccination requirements, so we continue to keep this under review to ensure British citizens can travel abroad as easily as possible.”

Many people have taken to social media after their booster jab was not recorded on their NHS app.

One person, whose username is Glitter JoJo, wrote: “Had my Covid booster last Monday.

“Still hasn’t appeared on the NHS app. Anyone know why?”

Another person, Taylor, added: “Why does the Covid passport app not show your latest booster jab?

“Had mine two months ago yet only my first two vaccinations shows almost nine months ago.”

Meghan-Jane McCartney wrote: “I have had my Covid booster but there is no evidence of it on my NHS app.

“I need proof that I’ve had it if I want to travel to France after December 15, which I do!”

Another Twitter user, Seaghan, wrote: “So the Covid booster jabs don’t appear on the NHS Covid passport app.

Someone else, Philippa Becket, commented: “Just got my Covid booster and very pleased to have it.

“Apparently this jab will not appear on the app and will therefore cause us huge problems as is soon as a requisite part of a health pass in many European countries.

“So no skiing??”

Ian Gordon also fumed: “Why isn’t NHS England adding the booster vaccine to the NHS app Covid passport record?

“This is needed to have records in one place.

“It can only be viewed in medical records within the app.

“Is this being rectified?”

Due to the lack of evidence supporting the booster jab, many British holidaymakers have experienced difficulties when travelling abroad.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed the booster dose will be added to the NHS Covid Travel Pass.

He said: “We will be making plans to add the booster dose to the NHS Covid Travel Pass.

“What the general lesson is, if anybody wants to travel, you can see that getting vaccinated with a booster will make your life easier for foreign travel.

“If you’re thinking about that, this is yet another reason to get it done.”
