Boris Johnson’s fiancée Carrie Symonds has shared pictures of them hiking in the Scottish Highlands with baby son Wilfred.
The photos, posted by Ms Symonds on Instagram, show the PM strolling with his son strapped his chest.
Another shows Carrie wrapped up in a woollen jumper as she holds the youngster in front of the picturesque Applecross Bay. A third shows the couple beaming as she holds up their Jack Russell Dilyn while Mr Johnson carries Wilfred.
The PM took Ms Symonds and their young son on the Scottish break following a traumatic six months which saw him fall seriously ill with coronavirus shortly before the infant’s birth in April.
But they had to cut the trip short yesterday amid security fears after their location was leaked, according to The Sun.
Bodyguards reportedly told Mr Johnson the secluded cottage he had rented was no longer safe following the publication of photos which clearly identified where he was staying.
A source told the newspaper: ‘They had been camping in the garden of the cottage but the security threat was too much.
‘The tent could be spotted by a sniper from too far away for them to stay after the location was published.’
One local who spotted the PM and his fiancée out walking with a guide and a number of aides described them looking ‘like any other normal family’ on a day out.
A Government source confirmed that the Prime Minister has returned from Scotland.
Mr Johnson had been expected back at Westminster next week, after he defied calls to return amid the A-level results fiasco.
