A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of affray after he was found in possession of an imitation firearm.
The boy, 13, was arrested after Gwent police were called to Idris Davies School, in Caerphilly, Wales, when he was seen with the firearm earlier today.
The service said he is now in custody following his arrest, on the charges, which relate to fighting in a public place.
Specialist officers were sent to the school “as a precaution”, Gwent police added in a statement posted to Twitter.
The statement read: “We attended Idris Davies School, #Rhymney, after a report that a boy was seen with an intimation firearm.
“A boy, 13, is in custody after his arrest on suspicion of affray.
“No injuries were reported; specially-trained firearms officers attended as a precaution.”
