A building believed to house an OAP home in Madrid has been destroyed by an explosion.
Emergency crews rushed to the capital’s Toledo Street following what is thought to have been a gas blast.
The top three floors of the building have been destroyed and footage posted to social media shows the road littered with debris as smoke billows out.
Children attending a school next door have been kept inside while police cordon off the area.
Authorities have confirmed there are casualties but have not given out any further details at this stage. Some are understood to have suffered burns and others panic attacks.
