Prince Charles and Camilla’s Twitter account, Clarence House, shared a post to mark Mother’s Day in the UK. The tweet included a sombre message, particularly close to the Duchess’ heart.
It read: “On Mothering Sunday, we celebrate all the Mothers in our lives and are thinking of those who cannot be with their Mothers today.”
The post also included two pictures – one showing Prince Charles and the Queen together at Frogmore House in March 2021 and another, more dated, showing Camilla and his mother Rosalind Shand.
As Mrs Shand died in 1994, the Duchess can only remember her mother on this day.
