Charlotte has her mum to thank as she ranks as ‘richest’ royal grandchild

Princess Charlotte has secured the title as the King’s “richest” grandchild – overriding that of her elder brother, Prince George.

In a study, which ranked the wealth of celebrity children, Princess Charlotte also appeared to rank higher than her younger brother, Prince Louis.

It appears that the eight-year-old’s position in the ranking is all thanks to one special person in her life – Kate, the Princess of Wales.

While the Princess of Wales is often praised for her impeccable sense of style, her young daughter is appearing to follow in her footsteps.

Since welcoming Princess Charlotte in May 2015, Kate has dressed her little girl in adorable pieces of clothing, many of which inspire mothers across the globe.

The research, which was conducted by Electric Ride on Cars, explains: “Princess Charlotte of Wales ranks as the worlds richest child with a huge net worth of £3.6billion.”

The study added: “Although her net worth has dropped by 12 percent since 2021, she still edges out her older brother Prince George, apparently due to the ‘Kate Middleton effect’, where the fashion choices of the Royal Family can have a huge impact on fashion trends.”

Despite George’s destiny to one day become King, Princess Charlotte could be set to inherit a special title for herself.

When Prince William, who is next in line to ascend the throne, becomes King, his young daughter could be styled as The Princess Royal.

The title is currently held by Princess Anne, the late Queen’s only daughter.

The Princess Royal title is typically held by the monarch’s eldest daughter, and with the current King only having two sons, his sister still holds the title.

When King George V died, his daughter Mary was still The Princess Royal.

This meant that when King George VI became monarch, the then-Princess Elizabeth could not inherit the special title.

The Princess Royal title holds importance within the monarchy, with the title going back to the monarch once the current Princess Royal dies.

It will then be bestowed upon the King’s daughter – meaning it will likely go to Princess Charlotte in the future.
