Child taken to hospital with serious injuries after collision between car and pedestrians in Sussex

A child has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and pedestrians, Sussex Police have said.

Officers were called shortly after 4.30pm on Monday after the incident on College Road in the West Sussex village of Ardingly.

The youngster has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries, police said.

Four other people are receiving treatment for minor wounds.

Police said no further information is available at this time.
