Surge testing is taking place in areas of East London following the detection of the South Africa variant in the area. It comes after two new cases of the South African variant were discovered in Redbridge.
Which postcodes are included?
Testing will now begin across the IG1 and IG6 postcodes, and will take place in small areas of the IG5 and IG7 postcodes.
Parts of the IG1 postcode include the Cranbrook, Valentines and Ilford Town wards.
Parts of the IG6 postcode cover the Aldborough, Barkingside, Fairlop and Fullwell wards.
The areas within the IG5 and IG7 postcodes include parts of Hainault and Chigwell, Redbridge Council has confirmed.
All people over the age of 11 in these areas are being urged to take a coronavirus test.
Enhanced contact tracing will be used on anyone who tests positive with the variant.
Anyone with coronavirus symptoms is urged to stay at home and book a test online or by phone.
Those without symptoms have been asked to visit the Redbridge Council website for more information.
The Department for Health has said the two outbreaks are not believed to be linked.
