Derry shooting: Man shot multiple times in own house – two suspects, police say

In a statement, police said the man was shot multiple times in the legs after two suspects forced their way inside his house at around 11pm in the Whitethorn Drive area.

Northern Ireland Police said in a statement: “Shortly before 11pm, it was reported that two men forced their way inside a house and shot a male occupant a number of times in his legs.

“The man is currently receiving medical treatment for his wounds.”

The Police have issued an appeal for information, asking anyone who could assist with police enquiries to contact officers at Strand Road on 101 quoting reference number 2038 or information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
