Donald Trump grand jury 'not expected to indict him this week'

A grand jury weighing possible criminal charges against ex-President Donald Trump is reportedly not expected to indict him this week.

The grand jury hearing evidence on Trump’s involvement in a hush money payment to a porn star is not likely to vote on an indictment until next week at the earliest, three sources with knowledge on the matter told NBC News on Tuesday.

It is in part because the grand jury is not expected to meet on Wednesday, which is the next day they were slated to gather, according to the sources.

Trump on March 18 announced that he believed he would be arrested last Tuesday. The grand jury, which is scheduled to meet Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, ended up only convening on the hush money case at the start of last week.

Yesterday, jurors met again and heard testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker.
