Duchess of Edinburgh Sophie hosts garden party at Buckingham Palace

Duchess Sophie has stepped out for a garden party at the Lonndon-based royal residence in honour of the Not Forgotten Association. The royal, who is the wife of Prince Edward, wowed guests in a stunning grey dress. Sophie’s appearance comes just a week after she attended a garden party at the Palace hosted by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Not Forgotten Association is a tri-service charity which provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for ex-service men and women with disabilities or illness and serving personnel who are wounded, injured or sick. There are over 2,000 beneficiaries of all ages and from all services.

Sophie appeared elegant as she paired her dress with a matching hat and a pair of elegant nude pumps.

The Palace shared some pictures of the Duchess of Edinburgh meeting attendees at the garden party.

“Garden Party, hosted by The Duchess of Edinburgh. An annual tradition since 1921, the event brings together over 2,000 ex-servicemen and women for a special afternoon in the garden.

Over the course of each year, the Royal Family hosts three garden parties at Buckingham Palace.

During the events, more than 30,000 guests are invited to spend a relaxed summer afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace, as well as the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The events hold importance for the family as it allows them to interact with a broad range of people from all walks of life. In attendance, all have made a positive impact in their communities.

Particularly over the last few months, Sophie has become a more prominent member of the Royal Family.

Sophie and Prince Edward – who is the youngest child of the late Queen – became the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh in March.

The royal couple, who married in 1999, were formerly known as the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Sophie’s appearance on Tuesday enticed royal fans to comment on the Duchess’s “stunning” outfit.

A Twitter user wrote: “Stunning in grey!” and royal watcher Just Royals said: “She looks stunning!”

Royal fans also commented how “lovely” it is to see Sophie leading events.
