Winning the jackpot on tonight’s EuroMillions could be a festive treat for one lucky UK player. EuroMillions has made several multi-millionaires out of UK winners in recent years, making it one of the National Lottery’s most popular games.
One of the biggest ever prizes won in the UK was claimed by Colin and Chris Ward, from North Ayrshire, Scotland, who won £161m in 2011.
The largest single win by a British player stands at £170m – which was won by an anonymous ticket holder in October 2019.
Tonight’s jackpot is an incredible £44m – while not the biggest amount put on by the transnational lottery, it would change any ordinary person’s life beyond recognition.
How do I play EuroMillions?
To enter you need to purchase a ticket before 7.30pm on the day of the draw – these are every Tuesday and Friday for the EuroMillions.
You can buy a ticket any day of the week up to 11pm each evening, either online, on the National Lottery App, or at most local newsagents.
All you need to do is choose five numbers from one to 50 and two Lucky Stars from one to 12.
To put your ticket in the hands of fate, you can opt for a Lucky Dip instead which will randomly generate the numbers for you.
You can buy up to 10 play slips at a time, and play up to seven lines of numbers, for £2.50 a go.
Players need to match all five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers to win the jackpot.
Even if you don’t win the jackpot, you can still take home a range of cash prizes depending on how many numbers you match.
