GoBoat runs electric vessels across popular spots around London. To honour their four-legged passengers, the boating experience is giving away free trips on a first come, first served basis every hour, throughout the entire day on Thursday, August 26.
International Dog Day recognises the number of different dog breeds rescued and adopted around the world each year and honours the special bond between humans and canines.
Anyone who turns up at GoBoats Paddington or Kingston docks with their pups will be welcomed aboard to have fun on the water.
Up to eight people can enjoy a trip per boat, with popular riverside views to look out for including Hampton Court Palace, London Zoo, Camden Lock and Teddington Lock.
No boating experience is necessary to take part and children are also welcome on board.
GoBoat co-founder, Julian Wootton, said: “We’ve always encouraged people to bring their dogs down to GoBoat, so what better way to celebrate International Dog Day than to give people and their furry companions a little treat.
“The last 18 months have been tough for everyone, so anything that we can do to put a smile on people’s faces and get a tail wagging is always a bonus.
“People will be able to turn up to our Paddington or Kingston locations from 9am and charter one of our eco-friendly electric boats with their dog for no cost at all.
“We can’t wait to see lots of dogs and their owners turn up on August 26 to see London from a new perspective.”
Anyone who fancies a day out cruising along the River Thames with their pets are asked to arrive 15 minutes before disembarking.
You can turn up on the day to charter a boat but it is recommended that you email [email protected] ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
One boat is available every hour on the hour for an hour from 9am to 6pm.
