Harry’s son Archie picks up American accent after spending ‘lots of time with mama Meghan’

Meghan Markle and Harry ‘extremely happy’ in US says insider

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family nearly a year ago. In March, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to North America with their son and have been aiming to lead a more financially independent life.

The couple’s only child, Archie, could be heard speaking to the public for the first time during the Sussexes’ new podcast.

Experts have picked up on Archie’s American accent when he wished listeners a Happy New Year.

They have highlighted how it is common for children to pick up accents from the people they in their environment.

According to the Sun, Experts at the voice agency Spoons Voices said: “There are a number of studies that suggest children pick up accents from the environment they’re in or people they’re around the most.

“Archie could be spending loads of time with mama Meghan hence a slight leaning towards her accent.

“The great thing is that having to recognise the same words pronounced in different ways will supercharge young Archie’s ability to map and connect words to meanings.”

Last year, Meghan and Harry purchased a mansion thought to be worth £11million in Montecito, California.

The home sits on 5.4 acres of land and features nine bedrooms and an impressive 16 bathrooms.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes previously told Vogue: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their family home in July of this year.

“They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbours, as well as them for a family.”

After their departure from royal duties, the Sussexes signed deals with the streaming giants Netflix and Spotify.

Meghan and Harry released the first episode of their Archewell podcast on Spotify last month.

The couple were joined by a lineup of celebrities including James Corden and Sir Elton John.

The first episode marked the start of their Archewell Audio project.

The Duchess told listeners: “No matter what life throws at you guys, trust us when we say, love wins.”

During the episode, the couple chose not to discuss their own experiences of 2020 but instead decided to invite the celebrities who they “admire, and get their thoughts on what they learned from 2020″.

Towards the end of the episode Prince Harry could be heard saying to his son: “You can speak into it.”

Meghan could then be heard asking: “Archie, is it fun?”

The Sussexes’ son replied to his mum by repeating the word “fun”.

Prince Harry then encouraged his son to say “Happy New Year” word by word.

The couple praised Archie with Prince Harry saying “boom” and Meghan cheering “yeah”.

The adorable moment can be heard at about the 32-minute mark of the podcast.
