The first three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s series were released last Thursday, December 8. Volume 1 gave insight into their relationship and engagement, and explored the challenges they faced including press inclusion and racism.

The episodes feature sit-down interviews with Meghan and Harry alongside video diary clips and archival footage broken up by insight from friends, lawyers, and analysis by historians.

The synopsis for the show explains: “The series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.”

The couple signed a multi-year deal with Netflix after they left the Firm, and the streaming giant said the first three episodes recorded 81.55 million viewing hours, which translates to 28 million households.
