Huge star and Harry’s clsoe friend faces Coronation invite conflict

Harry and Meghan’s coronation decision discussed by Levin

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Prince Archie, will turn four on May 6, which falls on the same day as King Charles’ Coronation across the pond.

Meghan, along with Archie and his sister Lilibet, are expected to remain in California while Prince Harry will return to the UK for the monumental occasion.

Despite the eyes of the world expected to be on Westminster on the day, there are also expected to be some big names at the young prince’s birthday party.

Harry and Meghan have some high-profile celebrity friends that live nearby to the couple’s Montecito mansion, but one, in particular, faces a dilemma over which royal event to attend.

Orlando Bloom, who lives just around the corner from Harry and Meghan, has become a close friend of the California-based royals.

After Harry and Meghan moved to the States in 2020, their new neighbour Orlando Bloom said: “This guy [Prince Harry] is so nice, and I think he’s got a great sense of humour.

“I hope he maintains that through this because they’re sort of on a pedestal. We’re showing real adoration to them in one form or another.

“I try to justify it, because quite frankly, if I’m honest, it’s not like me to poke fun at anyone but it is done with affection.”

Bloom even did the voice for Prince Harry’s character in the HOB cartoon, The Prince, which he reportedly had a “sense of humour” about.

As he is friends and neighbours with the royal couple, it is expected that he will receive an invite to Prince Archie’s fourth birthday bash.

However, he will have quite the dilemma on his hands as his fiancée Katy Perry is performing at the Coronation concert on May 7.

If invited, the Lord of the Ring’s actor will need to decide whether to attend the youngster’s birthday or watch his partner sing at the highly anticipated Coronation.

Even if he doesn’t attend, Prince Archie’s birthday is a big event on the calendar for plenty of other A-listers next month.

Serena Williams, George Clooney, Ellen Degeneres and Oprah Winfrey are just some of the couple’s friends likely to get an invite.

Prince Harry will attend the crowning of his father in London on May 6, while the rest of his family remains in the US, but he is expected to fly straight back to be with his son on his big day.

Royal commentator Emily Andrews said: “It’s a very brief, fleeting visit. He’s literally going to come to Westminster Abbey, going to walk to his seat, sit there and look dutiful, hopefully not glowering at everybody else.

“And then he’s going to go back to LA because, with the time difference, he hopes to apparently make it back in time for Archie’s birthday.”
