Piers Morgan’s attacks on Meghan Markle have been met with fury from royal commentators. The former GMB host’s latest criticism came after it was announced that the Duchess of Sussex would be publishing a children’s book. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie hit out at Mr Morgan for his comments.

Ms Fiorito told listeners: “Of course, Piers Morgan is livid about the book.

“This ends me, what is wrong with him?

“He’s essentially saying, ‘How dare she write sweet lovely children’s book?’

“He’s saying that she’s a hypocrite because her father-daughter relationship is non-existent right now.”

Ms Bowie added: “Lest we forget, her father is the one who caused this entire rift between them.

“He’s the one who accepted money from the tabloids to take those pictures.

“So I don’t think that that’s fair at all.

“This is a perfect example of something that’s so innocent, and so kind and wonderful and for children, being twisted.”

She continued: “It’s sick honestly, it’s sick.

“I mean, this is ridiculous.”

The Duchess explained: “The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born,” the duchess said in a statement.

“That poem became this story.

“My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine.”

Morgan tweeted after the announcement: “Is this a joke?

“How the hell can Meghan ‘I hate royalty but call me Duchess’ Markle preach about father-child relationships when she’s disowned her own Dad, and wrecked her husband’s relationship with his?”
