James Middleton tied the knot with fiancée Alize Thevenet in the South of France on Saturday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, attended the ceremony in the rural village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, royal sources said.

To the disappointment of royal fans, no pictures from the private event have been shared and it is expected to stay that way.

Royal commentator Daniela Elser says James, much like his sister Pippa, are a “picture of discretion” when it comes to Kate and Prince William.

Writing for News Australia, Ms Elser said: “Crushingly, no pictures have emerged so far of the Cambridges celebrating the big day en famille, thus denying us the sheer bliss of a seeing Kate done up in an Emilia Wickstead-slash-Philip Treacy look that costs the same as a small car.

“Ditto the world has been denied seeing the couple’s three kidlets putting on an adorable page boy/flower girl display.

“It is highly unlikely, however, that any photos at all will emerge.

“James, like their sister Pippa, has always been the picture of discretion when it comes to his future-Queen sister and the Cambridges themselves only post about work or royal family-related events on their social media channels. Hashtag sad.”

Kate was joined by her parents Carole and Michael Middleton for the special day.

Pippa and her husband James Matthews along with their two children, Arthur and Grace Matthews, also made the trip to France.

James confirmed he had got married during a post on his Instagram page on Sunday.

He wrote: “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

“Words cannot describe how happy I am.”

The couple got engaged in September 2019, but they had to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

James and Alize first met in bizarre circumstances three years ago in London.

James previously revealed his cocker spaniel, Ella, approached Alize in the Kensington Club in Chelsea.

The now 34-year-old let his dog loose to get some water from a bowl in the terrace, but instead made a “beeline for Alizee”.

James added he was “embarrassed” so went over to retrieve Ella, however he said he was then hilariously mistaken for a waiter by his now-wife, who proceeded to order a drink.

He added: “Little did I know, but I had just met my future wife, all thanks to Ella.

“If I hadn’t trusted Ella, I wouldn’t have brought her to the South Kensington Club and she wouldn’t have been able to say hi to the woman who became my fiancée.”
