The US President and First Lady Jill Biden touched down in Air Force One at RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk. Mr Biden and his wife waved to the gathered military and security personnel as they departed the aircraft.

The UK is the first overseas trip Mr Biden has embarked on since he became US President in January.

The 78-year-old will meet US air force servicemen stationed in the Suffolk military base.

The US President and First Lady are then expected to fly to Cornwall Airport Newquay ahead of the meeting of world leaders, which begins on Friday.

Boris Johnson will hold face-to-face bilateral talks with Mr Biden on Thursday.

The Prime Minister, who will chair the G7 in Carbis Bay, said he wants to discuss the coronavirus pandemic with Mr Biden and explore ways to vaccinate the world.

Meanwhile, the prospect of a post-Brexit trade deal and the ongoing row in Northern Ireland are also set to feature.
