Last night, the nation was treated to performances by the likes of Queen and Adam Lambert and Elton John to mark the penultimate day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. However, Meghan and Harry did not attend the event as they were celebrating the first birthday of their daughter Lilibet “privately”. Commenting on the Sussexes lack of attendance, Daily Mail Diary Editor Richard Eden tweeted: “This is such a good show #PlatinumPartyatthePalace How sad for #PrinceHarry and #Meghan if they were invited but chose not to attend.”

    Today is the final day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. 

    To round off the celebrations more than 70,000 Big Jubilee Lunches are being held across the country on Sunday afternoon.

    Around ten million are expected to sit down with their neighbours for street parties, picnics and barbecues.

    The grand finale is the Pageant where more than 10,000 people will be involved in the procession through the streets of London.

    Ed Sheeran will sing the national anthem and there is speculation the Queen will make a second appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony to round off the weekend.

    Meghan Markle and Prince Harry missed out on last night’s spectacular Platinum Party at the Palace, a move which has been deemed “sad” by a royal expert.
