Meghan Markle and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge have moved on from their royal rift and are now in a “better place”, according to a royal source. The Duchesses have bonded over their daughters, Princess Charlotte and Lilibet Diana, with Kate even sending a gift for their newborn baby.
A royal source told Us Weekly: “They’re in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet.
“Tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate – Kate even sent Meghan a gift for the baby.
“It’s wasted energy, they’ve called it a truce.
“The birth of Lili has brought Kate and Meghan closer together.”
“They’ve bonded over both having daughters and can’t wait for all the cousins to meet.”
Rumours of a rift between the Cambridges and the Sussexes began to circulate as early as October 2018.
The two royal couples decided to split their households and Meghan and Harry moved out of Kensington Palace and established their own charitable endeavour, Sussex Royal.
Their relationship worsened following the couple’s announcement that they intended to step away from the Royal Family.
During their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, Meghan spoke about her relationship with Kate.
She corrected the widely-circulated story that she had made Kate cry in a dispute over flower girl dresses in the lead-up to the royal wedding.
She said that the reverse had in fact happened, but that Kate had “owned it” and apologised by bringing flowers and a note.
Prince Harry also spoke about his deteriorating relationship with Prince William, describing their current status as “space” and saying that they were on “different paths”.

Prince William and Kate have not seen the couple’s children since November 2019, when the Sussex family went to North America to spend the Christmas holidays.
Meghan and Harry recently welcomed their baby daughter on June 4 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She has been Lilibet “Lili” Diana in a touching tribute to the Royal Family.
Lilibet has now joined her older brother, two-year-old Archie Harrison at the family’s home in Montecito.
Kate and Prince William have three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. The family currently resides in both Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
