The day marked a collective action for a “blackout” on social media to protect against racism and police violence.

Heads Together was launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry in 2017.

Throughout the lockdown, the campaign has been providing support to those in need, championing the work of its charity partners, including The Anna Freud Centre and Place2Be.

Since Heads Together was formed, the royals have been encouraging people to be more open about their feelings, while also talking publicly about their own mental health struggles.

The footage showed police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on George’s neck, even after he pleaded that he couldn’t breathe.

Protests have been held across the US and around the world, in London, Paris, and Berlin, against the killing of George and the many other victims due to racism and police brutality.

The murder of George Floyd has sparked outrage around the world, resulting in demonstrations and petitions.

An online petition calling for the police officers involved in the death of George Floyd to face justice has reached a record number of signatures.

The petition is now the biggest in Change.org’s history and has more than 14 million signatures.

The petition reads: “George was handcuffed and restrained and being completely cooperative when this all went down.

“The officer put his knee on George’s neck choking him for minutes on minutes while George screamed that he could not breathe.

“Bystanders beg for the police officer to take his knee off George’s neck, but the officer didn’t listen and continued to choke him.

“We are trying to reach the attention of Mayor Jacob Frey and DA Mike Freeman to beg to have the officers involved in this disgusting situation fired and for charges to be filed immediately.

“Please help us get justice for George and his family!”

Derek charges of third-degree murder and will appear in court later this month.
