The “close” relationship between Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Prince Harry could be on the mend, according to commentators. The future queen consort’s role in the Duke of Sussex and Duke of Cambridge’s public reunion at Prince Philip’s funeral was a point of discussion. Us Weekly’s Royally Us podcast analysed the true extent of her influence on the brothers.

Host Christina Garibaldi told listeners: “It was nice to see them kind of come together.

“I know some people have been saying that Kate was the one that eased that tension.

“She was the one that initiated, or at least from what we saw, initiated the conversation with Harry.

“The three of them have been close for so many years.”

She continued: “So it was nice to see them, the Three Musketeers back together again.”

Co-host Molly Mulshine spoke about Harry and Kate’s relationship as in-laws.

She said: “I think the photos of Harry and Kate joking around have always been so nice to see over the years.

“It would be great to see them get back to that.”

Ms Garibaldi agreed, adding: “It was also nice that she kind of stepped back and let the brothers have that moment together to just walk and talk.

“But, like we said, we have no idea what they were talking about.

“This is the first time that we’ve seen them interact on a public stage.”

She continued: “It’s as far back as even before Commonwealth Day in 2020 because they didn’t really speak at that event.

“So this is really the first time we’ve seen them interacting together in a long long time.”

It was reported that Kate, William, Harry and Prince Charles did have conversations after the funeral.

There has been no confirmation as to what these discussions were about.

The event marked the first time the Duke of Sussex had seen his family members since the end of March in 2020.
