Kidderminster fire: Police scramble as huge blaze fills sky with thick black smoke

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service is currently at the scene too.

They said in a statement: “Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with a large fire in Park Street, Kidderminster.

“The call came in at 2.51pm on September 8 and a number of crews are already on scene.”

Hearts Midlands News tweeted: “Emergency services are dealing with an industrial fire in Kidderminster.

“They’re warning of major disruption and road closures around the scene in Park St.

“The smoke’s visible from nearby Bewdley.”

North Worcestershire Police warned people to avoid the area as they posted a video of the smoke rising from the building.

They tweeted: “Significant industrial fire is being fought by

“@HWFireControl @HWFire on Park Street #Kidderminster.

“Considerable disruption expected on roads nearby.

“Please avoid the area.”

A police spokesperson later reiterated the same point to Birmingham Mail. 

They said: “We are currently attending a fire in Park Street, Kidderminster.

“Please avoid the area while emergency services respond as there will be road closures in place.”
