King fears for monarchy future as William and Harry feud ‘detrimental’

King Charles discusses late Queen during Germany visit

King Charles III expressed concerns about feuds between Prince William and Prince Harry being “detrimental” to the monarchy, according to Robert Jobson.

The author claimed His Majesty, 74, noted both his sons had slowly developed a tendency for vicious outbursts that reminded Charles of Princess Diana.

William, 40, and Harry, 38, have experience tension for years and their rift was only further exacerbated by the release of the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell autobiography, Spare, in January.

Buckingham Palace insiders told earlier this month aides have been working hard to minimise the risks of the brothers interacting during the Coronation.

Writing in his book Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, Jobson said: “He knew that they were both strong-willed, stubborn even; conflict would be very difficult to manage and could have a detrimental impact on the monarchy itself.

“Sometimes the level of belligerence between his sons, and indeed towards him, has shocked Charles.”

Jobson’s sources suggested William appeared to have inherited a short temper from the King but the Prince of Wales has a harder time forgiving and forgetting.

They told him: “He is a driven person and that can make him impatient. That can make William short-tempered when dealing with Charles.

“The Boss (Charles) has a temper, too, but it does not go on and on. He can get frustrated and flare up and then, in an instant, it is forgotten about. With William, it is rarely forgotten.”

And while the King has been trying to reconcile with his youngest son following repeated swipes against the Royal Family, William is reportedly still struggling to move on.

His Majesty held “peace talks” with the Duke of Sussex to secure his attendance at the Coronation but William and his brother are believed not to have spoken since the Queen’s funeral last September.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital: “King Charles is certainly owning the moral high ground by voicing his pride in his sons, his shrewd diplomatic instincts are on display preventing Harry and Meghan from playing the victim card again.

“He’s rising above the soap opera and speculation circus. What is certain is that forgiving King Charles is relieved his estranged youngest son will be present to witness him crowned.

“The decision was announced after a reported conversation, very much a heart-to-heart chat between father and son with both purported to want to heal.”

She added: “The Prince of Wales is understood to still feel frightfully betrayed by his brother’s revelations in the spill-all Spare.

“Sadly, while Harry’s attending might have been as a result of wanting reconciliation it certainly was important for his brand value. For ‘Brand Sussex’ to thrive it is essential, a Netflix insider told the Mail on Sunday…

“The insider said that the palpable sigh of relief was ‘among those of us involved in the business because Brand Sussex relies on Harry being seen with his family.’”

Buckingham Palace confirmed last week Harry will be returning to the UK to attend his father’s Coronation. Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex will stay in California with the couple’s children.
