Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been branded “professional troublemakers” whose “peace” with the Prince and Princess of Wales is “temporary”. American columnist Meghan McCain accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of “creating chaos” within the Royal Family and described the reunion of the couples – once dubbed the Fab Four – as a “ceasefire”.
In a scathing attack, she said this was because Meghan “doesn’t mind tearing” the Firm apart as she accused the couple of wanting to be “King Harry and Queen Meghan”.
The Prince and Princess of Wales put on a united front with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they joined forces on a walkabout at Windsor Castle on Saturday – just a few days after the death of the Queen.
As the couple’s first engagement under their new titles, William and Kate were joined by Harry and Meghan for the first time since Commonwealth Day on March 9 2020.
William and Harry have a well-documented troubled relationship but the death of their grandmother saw the rivals shelve their differences when, with their wives, they viewed floral tributes left to the late Queen at Windsor Castle.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Ms McCain said: “Meghan doesn’t mind tearing the Royal family apart.
“And here’s why – Harry and Meghan are in the business of Harry and Meghan. And when they’re creating chaos, business is good.
“Because these professional troublemakers have made their choice.”
Speaking about the brother’s reunion, she added: “To be blunt – they want to be King Harry and Queen Meghan.
“What happens from here is anyone’s guess. But here’s mine: This peace is temporary. It’s more of a ceasefire.”
The commentator said Harry and Meghan would endeavour to keep “everyone fighting” in the Firm because it is “better for business”.
She said: The spotlight will never be on them the way it is on William and Kate. They have made it abundantly clear over the past two years that is an unacceptable way for them to live.
“So, the next best thing for Harry and Meghan and Co. is to keep everyone fighting. To be a little bit crass, it is better for business for them if we’re divided.
It had been two years since William, Kate, Harry and Meghan were together in public, during the 2020 Commonwealth Day church service and they appeared at ease driving off together with William at the wheel of a Range Rover after their walkabout lasted just over 40 minutes.

The future king is understood to have extended the olive branch to his brother, asking him and his wife to join them for a tour of the floral tributes.
A royal source said: “The Prince of Wales invited the Duke and Duchess to join him and the Princes of Wales earlier.
“The Prince of Wales thought it was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family.”
The four also walked part of Windsor’s famous Royal Mile, shaking outstretched hands, sharing jokes, receiving flowers for the late Queen and one teenage girl was embraced by Meghan when she asked for a hug.
The couples were dressed all in black as they walked along the gates of the castle.
Each member of the royal family was seen pointing at different tributes and discussing them amongst each other as members of the crowd waved at them.
William and Kate and Harry and Meghan then greeted well-wishers at Windsor Castle with a number holding up mobile phones to take a photo of the royals.
A crowd at the castle broke out into applause as the couples approached members of the public and spoke to them.
William was seen speaking intently to a member of the crowd, at one moment shaking a woman’s hand. Both William and Kate could be seen thanking people.
Kate crouched down at one moment and began speaking to a child who had started to cry. The child stopped crying when Kate approached her.
Meghan was also seen shaking the hands of several children and well-wishers at Windsor.
The duke and duchess were handed bunches of flowers by the crowd which they both accepted.
