London emergency: Vehicle crashes into Edmonton police station – officers evacuate scene

Dramatic video footage on social media shows a vehicle partially embedded into the entrance of a building. A police cordon is also up around the police station in Fore Street, Edmonton, in north London, after the crash took place at 6.58pm this evening. Sirens are also seen flashing around the station, while officers circle the scene to ensure members of the public do not get too close. 

The Met Police said in a statement: “A man – no further details – has been detained in connection with the incident.

The vehicle remains at the scene. Specialist officers are in attendance while it is examined.

At this stage we have not been informed of any injuries.
