Bystanders in south London have claimed around half a dozen fire engines arrived at the scene to deal with the blaze after an inferno broke out at Elephant and Castle tube station.
The incident has caused travel disruption on underground services and the road.
According to @tweetthetube, there is no service on the Bakerloo Line between Elephant and Castle and Queen’s Park.
Minor delays are expected on the rest of the line.
@JambusterLondon, which is dedicated to updating motorists in the capital about disruption on the road, has issued a warning for those travelling southbound along the A201 London Road at junction A3.
They have claimed: “The road is blocked due to an emergency services incident. Use alternative routes. Traffic is stationary on approach.”
