M6 traffic latest: Lorry crash and oil spill causes seven mile queues – three lanes closed

The lorry crashed into the central barrier on the southside of the M6 earlier this morning, causing significant damage to the barriers.  The crash took place between J7 Great Barr and J6 Spaghetti Junction. Motorists are facing significant delays of over one hour this morning, with queues stretching over seven miles.

Traffic officers have closed two lanes of the southbound carriageway and one lane of on the northbound side.

Congestion is stretching back to J10, Wolverhampton/Walsall.

As a result of the crash, oil was spilt on the road and it is currently being cleaned up, according to AA route planner.
