Man charged and two arrests made in connection with Elle Edwards murder

A man has been charged and two more people arrested in connection with the murder of a woman outside a pub on Christmas Eve.

Elle Edwards, 26, is not thought to have been the target of the fatal shooting at The Lighthouse in Wallasey.

The beautician was shot in the head as she celebrated the holidays with friends, dying later in hospital.

Merseyside Police confirmed three more people have today been arrested after her tragic death, bringing the total number to eight.

Detectives have charged Thomas Waring, of Private Drive, Barnston, Wirral, with possession of a prohibited weapon, and assisting an offender.

The 20-year-old will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court tomorrow morning.

After further warrants, a man from Heswall and a woman from Tranmere, both 23, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

But both suspects have now been released on bail. The force continues to appeal for information, CCTV and dashcam footage of the shooting.

Elle’s funeral took place on January 25 in her hometown, with hundreds of people turning up to pay their respects.

The funeral cortege was led by a hearse with a tribute of flowers that read ‘Elle.

Her dad, Tim, said the shooting ‘should never have happened’ as he paid tribute to his ‘beautiful and caring’ daughter.

‘She was the type of person that would walk into the room and everyone would gravitate towards her because she was always smiling,’ he said.

‘She was beautiful looking and she was a great hugger. She was just a fantastic human being with a heart of gold.’
