The Duke and Duchess of Sussex imparted shock news yesterday as they announced Meghan is pregnant with their second child. Much of the public has reacted with glee, with many pining for more details, which they will receive via American talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

When is Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared details of the pregnancy via a spokesperson.

They said: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

Anyone anxious for further details about the couple’s lives won’t have to wait long.

US network CBS will broadcast an interview between the Duchess and Oprah Winfrey.

Their 90-minute “primetime special” will cover “wide-ranging” topics, such as motherhood and philanthropy, according to the broadcaster.

They said the focus would start solely on the Duchess before also including Prince Harry.

CBS said: “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

The interview is their first since leaving the Royal Family in 2019 and will air on March 7.

Afterwards, CBS will release it for “global distribution” although it is unclear which UK channels will air the interview.

The couple’s announcement dwarfs another made by Prince William and Kate Middleton.

A source told Us Weekly they are trying for another child last week.

They said their plans follow in line with the Duchess’ hopes, adding the Queen knows.

The source said: “Having four children was always part of Kate’s plan.”

“She put the idea on hold when [the coronavirus pandemic] hit, but now there is light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine and [Prince George and Princess Charlotte] scheduled to return to school in April. She feels ready to start trying again.”

They added: “It took a while for Kate to convince William, though. He said that three children is more than enough. The thought of having four made him feel overwhelmed.

“But Kate’s desires to have another child have inspired him, and at the end of the day, he loves and appreciates the secure family setting he never had growing up.

“Why not make it bigger? After taking some time to think about it, he’s on the same page and is excited about the future.”
