Meghan Markle and Harry fury: Piers Morgan blames furious outbursts at couple on ’boredom’

Piers Morgan slams Liz Hurley on claiming her ‘mum’ took photos

It comes as the GMB host admitted in a shock statement last year he had “taken things a bit too far” when talking about the couple. He added: “Do I think that will govern and temper how I talk about them going forward? Absolutely.”

When asked about his focus on the couple, Mr Morgan told The Sunday Times: “It’s times of relative peace, calm, quiet and dare I say boredom that might occasionally bring out the worst in me.

“Having squabbles with people who are never going to change their mind in a million years about stuff that no longer seems remotely important.”

The outspoken GMB host branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “ginge and cringe” after they signed deals with Spotify and Netflix.

After separating from the main royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed a number of lucrative deals, including a £100million Netflix deal and a £30million Spotify podcast.

In a column for the Daily Mail today, Mr Morgan also promised he would publicly urge the Queen to strip Meghan and Harry of their royal titles.

He added: “Let’s see how many millions they command when they don’t sell themselves out to commercial partners as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Mr Morgan also argued their titles should be stripped after “using” son Archie for their new Spotify Podcast.

This is despite the couple wanting to give him “privacy” after they left the UK last year.

Highlighting what he claimed was “hypocrisy” from Meghan and Harry, Piers said on Good Morning Britain earlier this month: “They quit the country for privacy and they’ve hardly shut up since.

“They particularly wanted to protect their little boy who is the star of their new podcast. It is all complete hogwash.”

He added: “When Ginge and Cringe did their new podcast – that’s their new nicknames, because he’s got ginger hair and she makes me cringe – and little Archie was brought in to flog it, did that not make you [cringe]?

“After all that saying ‘we had to leave the country to protect his privacy. but now the moment we’ve signed a big-money deal we’re going to use him to flog our podcast’.”

Commenting on the royal deals, Mr Morgan said: “It is completely inappropriate for members of the Royal Family to fleece commercial entities in this way.

“Spotify, Netflix, coffee companies.. they’re out there.

“They are making a mockery of the Royal Family system.”

In a statement last year, the royal couple said their work: “Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit, of courage, resilience and the need for connection.

“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.”
