Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been “quietly shopping a top-secret TV project” to US media giants, according to royal insiders. During the Royally Obsessed podcast, hosts Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito talked about how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were exploring new “money-making ventures”. The need for a new income stream comes amid news that the royal couple have agreed to pay $43,000 (£32,000) per month for the next 30 years on their new house.
Earlier this week, there were claims that Meghan and Harry’s original money-making plans had been devastated by the coronavirus crisis.
They had originally planned to earn an income through after-dinner speaking roles but sources told Vanity Fair there is “no market” for this right now.
Instead, the couple have turned to producing a top-secret TV project with NBC Universal as they try to earn a living in Hollywood.
Meetings are thought to have already been held with TV bosses such as NBC Universal’s chairman of content studios, Bonnie Hammer.

Podcast host Rachel Bowie explained: “Harry and Meghan have been quietly shopping a TV project idea to different media companies.
“In June the pair met with NBC Universal.
“They have already collaborated with Apple, Disney, Netflix – every major streaming service.
“It is interesting they are diversifying their content by going to NBC Universal.
“It is not clear what the show or project will be, but it’s likely they will both executive produce it.
“Meghan has no plans to act in the project, so we won’t see her on screen.
“But this could be one of the money-making ventures they will take on.”

A source told Katie Nicholl from Vanity Fair this week: “They have to earn a living and clearly there isn’t a market for after-dinner talking right now.
“So the public speaking is on hold for the moment and they are exploring other avenues.”
The couple recently moved into a new £11million mansion in Santa Barbara.
Commenting on the new mansion, Rachel Bowie said: “There is space for five cars, rose gardens, a tennis court, a tea house, a children’s playground and large swimming pool.”
